Tell OGS Where To Go

May 14, 2012 Posted Under: Betting Trends

As you know, we’re locking the doors on OGS here pretty soon and there will be no new content after mid-June.

In the meantime, we’ve got a couple of requests for you, especially if you’re among our New York readers or you’re in some way savvy about the city:

I have about two weeks left here. Recommend a restaurant, particularly a specific dish, suggest a bar where I can down a Guinness or a cocktail and of course tell me what I can photograph before I leave. I’ve covered a lot of ground and shot most NYC landmarks, but if there’s something you haven’t seen on my photography site, please please please share your tips.

Three flights of stairs separate me from my mailbox, so I have plenty of time to ponder the world’s greatest mysteries in transit.

On one of these jaunts I was thinking, “When was the last time I actually mailed something? Sure I get mail, but when was the last time I actually put a stamp on an envelope and physically mailed something?”

Bills? I pay online. Letters to pals? Come on, email. Greeting cards? I have engreet do it.

No wonder post offices across the country are under threat. And w

Dbacks Dodge Star Bat

May 10, 2012 Posted Under: Betting Advice

It might appear to be a lop sided contest at first glance when the Los Angeles Dodgers play the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium tonight. One key player missing balances things up a bit with the news that Dodgers Matt Kemp is definitely out of tonights match with an injury. He plays a large part in the teams offense and is good news for Diamondbacks Ian Kennedy, who gets the start. The Dodgers do have a strong home record and are in form. The Diamondbacks are out of form but the pitching is closely matched with Clayton Kershaw starting for the Dodgers. It should turn out to be a close call.

May 4, 2012 Posted Under: Betting Trends

Cole Hamels has been given a five-game suspension for the way he welcomed teen prodigy Bryce Harper to the MLB last week.

The 2008 World Series MVP was suspended for intentionally throwing at the Washington rookie in the Philadelphia Phillies 9-3 win over the Nationals on Sunday night.

Hamels wasnt available to the media in the build up to the Phillies next game, but he has already admitted that he deliberately threw at Harper.

I was trying to hit him, the two-time All-Star lefty said Sunday night. Im not going to deny it. Im not trying to injure the guy.

Apr 12, 2012 Posted Under: Betting Advice

Madison Square Garden, New York, New York

Right now, the New York Rangers are trying to move closer to getting the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference while YouWager experts point out that the Montreal Canadiens hope to overcome another organizational shake-up in the final days of a dismal NHL season.

Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier was fired just yesterday and tonight Montreal will try to end New Yorks three-game winning streak at Madison Square Garden.

Steve Bartman And The Myth Of The Beleaguered Cubs Fan

Apr 10, 2012 Posted Under: Betting Sports Online

I watched Catching Hell, the documentary by Alex Gibney about the Steve Bartman debacle in 2003, again this Sunday morning. My initial reaction was to just update my Facebook status with something snarky aimed at all my Cub-fan friends (again). God, those people are fun to poke with a stick.

Those Cubs fans are, of course, the real villains (along with the press) of the film and of Steve Bartmans life. They treated that man awfully for little or no reason simply because they bought into a mob mentality and stopped thinking.
